No Water at MtVES
Due to a mechanical issue with the school’s well, the building is currently without water. As a result, Mt Vernon Elementary School classes will be relocated to Maranacook High School for tomorrow, April 15, and will operate on a half-day schedule for Mt Vernon Students only. Mt Vernon students will be dismissed at 11:30 a.m. and returned to Mount Vernon Elementary School.
Mt Vernon students should report to Mount Vernon Elementary School at their usual time. Buses will run on their normal schedules, and parent drop-off will take place at Mount Vernon Elementary as usual. From there, students will be transported by bus to the high school.
Please note that tomorrow is an early release day for Mt Vernon students only. Buses will begin transporting Mt Vernon students home at approximately 11:45 a.m., and parent pick-up will also take place at Mount Vernon Elementary at that time. Mt Vernon families are asked not to drop off or pick up students at Maranacook High School.
While at the high school, Mt Vernon Elementary students will remain in designated areas separate from high school students and will have access to restrooms reserved specifically for their use.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we work through this situation.
Students riding buses will do so as normal.
Parent drop off will be at Mount Vernon Elementary from 7:30-7:45am
Students riding buses home will begin to drop off at 11:45
Students being picked up by parents should be picked up at Mount Vernon Elementary at 11:45 am
There is NO aftercare.

Due to the high probability of significant snow Sunday into Monday, RSU 38 may shift to a remote learning day on Monday, January 26. Staff are making preparations, and an official decision will be announced on Sunday afternoon.
The School Board Meeting scheduled for today at 6:30 PM has been postponed. We will send out the rescheduled date soon.

Due to a Wind Advisory with gusts of 40-50 mph, RSU 38 schools will dismiss at 11:30 AM today, Friday, December 19.
Due to precipitation and temperatures hovering near freezing, RSU 38 will dismiss all students at 11:30 a.m. today, 12/10/2025 (No PM PreK). This early release allows our buses approximately two hours to complete all routes before conditions potentially worsen. The safety of our students remains our top priority. Please make arrangements for your child's early arrival home. I appreciate your understanding.
